Has anyone tried one of these with the 950 XL? If so, did it work? What do you think?

Yes I use this one:

They work great, in fact I've never used my dock once apart from the initial trying it out since purchasing this. These are a lot easier to carry around with an HDMI lead and you can hook up anywhere. Only downsides are:

1. You obviously can't plug in USB devices (although I use bluetooth mice and keyboards with it so not a problem)
2. You cannot charge your phone (I use a wireless charger so once again this problem is mitigated)
3. Third party adapters AFAIK only display a max resolution of 720p. For example my adapter supports upto 1080p however Windows will only output 720p as it is not an official device. On big TV's it is noticeable however I mainly use it for watching videos or playing music in hotels so it's not a concern to me.

If these things won't bother you then definitely purchase one, fits in your pocket and allows you to hook up anywhere with an HDMI lead!
