Can't upgrade to 10568.318

950xl, on 10586.218 not on insider program
10586.318 downloads OK then starts to install.
Install gets to 100% then fails with "there were some problems installing updates" and error code 0x800f081f.

I've hard reset twice and tried update with sim card out and in and also with sd card out and in, same result every time.

someone suggested that one should check using windows device recovery tool to see if there are any firmware updates available for your device. Install firmware updates and then check for OS updates

Ok I've downloaded the device recovery tool, v3.5.37.
It said that a later release was available so I installed it.
Instead of going from 10586.218 to 10586.318, I went to 10586.107 which looks suspiciously like a downgrade not an upgrade.
Went into phone update on the phone and it said 318 was available, it downloaded ok then started installing
This time the install failed with x8024a10a
So I connected to my pc again and opened device repair tool - and it says my software is up to date.
Android here I come :(

When you did the hard reset did you use the software button or the use the hardware button combination? Also, when it went through the install process and it asks if you want to restore from a backup did you choose not to and to start fresh? Or did you restore a backup?

If you used the software button, try the hardware button combination instead (really shouldn't make a difference, but worth a try). If you did restore a backup, try hard resetting again and choose not to restore backup but start fresh.

Re: Can't upgrade to 10568.318

In answer to your questions I used the software reset button and did not restore backup.
I'm happy to say that I Finally got 318, after doing a hard reset on 107 the 318 update applied ok.

Hurrah!
