Does using the store mean I HAVE to have an unlock PIN?

Hi all,

Just setting up my first Windows phone (Lumia 950) and I went to the store to grab Skype. It asked me to log in on my account so I started to enter the details and it said that if I continued I would HAVE to use my accounts password or a PIN every time I unlock the device! I work from home and this would be near useless and incredibly annoying for me. In fact it's a deal breaker and I would have to send the device back and go back to Android.

Can anyone tell me if this is the case? I don't want to proceed and have this feature on and be unable to turn it off.
