    I've been using the 950 for about a week now and windows hello. My right eye has become red and it hurts after a while.

    No. Infrared light is not dangerous. It's just light, It's not a laser. Infrared light is just light with a different wave-length than the light we humans can see.

    I agree...not dangerous. We are surrounded by infrared light. Everywhere you look, if there is heat, there is infrared.

    You may want to go see the doctor. Has nothing to do with the iris scanner, but having a red sore eye is never good.

    It would be dangerous if used while, say, driving a car, but not just using it normally.

    pinkeye ... try crying a bit more often (some good slushy movies might do the trick). :)

    Just get myself a lumia 950 XL and was worried for the iris scanner. But after reading these comments, now i feel comfortable to use it. Thanks.
