Syncing Hotmail with Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar on Lumia 950

I use my Hotmail account as my default Microsoft account. Used it for my Lumia 620 and now for 950. What really beats me is that whilst I can sync my Gmail and Yahoo Mail accounts with Outlook Mail and receive emails just fine, the Outlook Mail or the Outlook Calendar wouldn't sync my Hotmail account. Every time I try to do so, it notifies me that it has synced successfully but it never does. Has anyone else encountered this egregious problem? If so, is there a solution to it?
