and hell hath frozen over today.
was wondering why it was chilly here today :)
but wow, AT&T was behind and if I'm not mistaken, we are actually a revision higher than everyone else? (spent 3 seconds looking this up, so i can be very wrong)

    Thank god

Is this the latest firmware from MS or a revision or two back (01078.00038.16025.39033)? Either way my phone feel really good, new firmware plus new fast ring OS build and it feels really smooth and get amazing battery life now.

I probably only dropped 5% battery over night.

So, I know our ATT 950s were behind three firmware revisions. Is this the latest and greatest or just the first of the three? Also, can I get it on the insider builds or do I need to be on the most current production build first?

Edit: Answered one of my own questions. I'm on the latest Insider Preview and I just checked the firmware version. It is indeed the new firmware that AT&T pushed out. So the question remains - is it the latest of the three (and is it cumulative)?

As far as I've always known, updates are always cumulative. The current update builds upon the prior ones. So the most recent one is all you need.

Not to say I haven't experienced situations, like on my PS3, where one update unlocked subsequent updates. There may be technical reasons why Sony did that, but it's an inefficient way to go about updates and in my experience it's rare.

Firmware and updates on windows mobile/phone are normally cumulative. If another firmware/update was needed, it would then grab them in order as needed.

kind of like on windows (ex is based on a recent Windows 7 install), after a fresh install, you install 100+ updates, reboot and find 30+ more.... install reboot, and 7 more pop up.

    PeteSL from the previous pages states that his firmware is;

    01078.00038.16025.39033

    Mine says this - 01078.00017.15454.29031 and OS - 10.0.10586.164.

So it appears that we both have the same OS, but not the firmware, why would mine update and not get any new firmware, any ideas?

are you on an insider build? you may have to switch to production to get it.

    my AT&T 950 firmware matches PeteSL's .

As I wrote my last post I just saw my phone say an update needs a restart, let see what happens. Did you all get yours in two separate updates or just one?

Go into your network and wifi, turn off your att data and then turn it back on. Reboot your phone and then check for updates. Should be there after that.

I'm unable to get these updates on my Lumia 950.
I'm stuck at OS 10.0.10586.107 and firmware 01078.00017.15454.29031.
I signed up for Insider Slow a month ago - no updates. Yesterday I updated to the Fast ring - no updates. I did a hard reset and restored my data - no updates. I then signed on again for the Insider Fast ring - no updates.
I'm out of ideas, can anyone help me?

I've been having more random freezing issues since installing the latest firmware. My 950 was running quite well after last OS update, so I'm hoping a fresh install will get things running smoother.

THANK YOU! This did the trick. Now I'm downloading 38 updates of programs before I reinstall all my programs. Been a long journey, not going to sign up for Insider again...
    Thanks again.

It seems some of us got less than perfect system images out of the box, the recovery tool does a good job of repairing that.

I've noticed this too. While I wasn't having many issues with my 950, there were a few. Since the install of the new firmware and the W10 Mobile update, the phone seems rock solid. Even battery life has improved. And with the recent updates to Groove Music, I'll have to explore a bit to find something to complain about.

They also fixed the Bing image search in Cortana in Redstone builds, which no longer crashes and now also allows zooming, too. If MS keeps this up, we're gonna run out of things to ***** about, lol.

I had some initial trouble downloading the updates, but eventually they installed just fine.

I don't want to jinx it, but so far this OS and firmware update has been fantastic. Everything feels smoother and more responsive. The lag when I unlock the phone has been reduced significantly. Apps reopen more quickly and the OS seems more stable.

More importantly, Bluetooth functionality with my Band finally seems to be fixed. And it didn't even require me clearing Bluetooth profiles or reinstalling the Health app. Cortana and texting from the Band just works now, like it used to on my 920. It also seems like the Health app syncs more quickly now.

Like I said, I don't want to jinx it. I've been on this update less than a week, but so far it's encouraging.
