Just playing with you...but what is YOUR source for the 900 Million statistic? It is tough to see those figures, since it is hard to get accurate data over which phones are still alive and which have been replaced.

According to that, there are 1.593 BILLION Smartphones out in the wild. That is a start at least.

Around 20 Million is the user base for Windows Phone till date

Android's 900 million is since its inception and includes all phones from low end to high end and perhaps also devices that run Android.

We are at around 5% market share if I am not mistaken. We are small but probably a lot more merrier

Ps: Am not too sure about 20 million being total Lumia's sold or total WP , but then Lumia own 75-80% of WP market

18 Mil WPs were sold in 2012...so to only have 20 Mil total would not be the complete user base (means only 2 mil sold in 2010 and 2011? More Lumia 900s sold than that)

yup i read somewhere that it is 900 million "android activations" which means all android activated from the beginning till now. but of course since the time android started im sure not all those activated android devices are still in use so... im sure active android gadgets number will be smaller. also thats all android which includes tablets etc.

One simple way to estimate it with Nokia sales.

1.2 + 2 + 4 + 2.9 + 4.4 + 5.6 + whatever sold this Q (maybe 5M so far since they expect 7+ from Q2) = 25M

Nokia constitutes 80% of the WP market, so the total user base might be around 31M.
