I know nothing about photography.. so I was wondering (if its even possible) how to set the settings for a moon pic. Since I have a windows phone, I figured Id post here. I have these advanced options for ISO, EV, Sharpness, Metering, Photo Quality,Photo rez. I'm fairly certain my wimpy 5mp camera lens with my Samsung focus flash wont do the trick.. But I thought I'd ask.

Best I got

Edit: I think I figured out the problem.. EV only goes from -2 through 2.. I think I need 17.

What I have found taking pics of the mood on a regular camera is that you have to zoom in so that the moon fills the viewfinder. Also, you have to take the shot on daytime mode, not night. The light bouncing off of the moon is sunlight, so if there is too much darkness around the moon in your composition, the camera will just capture a blob of white in the middle. I haven't tried with my Lumia, so I can't say how to do it, but on my Nikon, I had to zoom all the way into digital zoom on a tripod. Good luck!
