Do ya? I assembled my current desktop a year ago w/Windows 7. I've owned W8 tablets & hybrids but my W7 continues to be my main personal machine. My laptop from work is also W7.

I'm not a W8-hater, but I don't see the end of W7 for me for quite a long time. Anyone else?

    no , I am addicted to windows 8.1 ;)
I have a 5 year old machine (dual core , 2gb ram and cheap nvdia gt210 1gb graphic card ) , it used to run vista , oh god that was horrible experience at that time :\
luckily I got windows 7 home edition , what a boost in the performance (it was 2009) I believe when I got windows 7 , I mainly use dev c++,c# ,
in nov 2013 I thought of getting windows 8 SL (single edition ) , it was very cheap at that time , so I thought to upgrading it , my my it booted my pc in just 5 seconds and I am at my start screen , I updated to 8.1 and got many new apps that sync very well with my Lumia 920 (bing news, skype, skydrive ,etc) , I miss the old classic start screen , but I am happy with large tiles on my screen ;)

I use Windows 7 exclusively at work. At home, my laptop and Venue 8 are running Windows 8. My desktop and my wife's laptop is still on Win7.

I prefer Windows 8 at this point, but I still like Windows 7 a lot. I outright hate trying to use XP anymore.

I have a machine on each version since XP. XP acts as a server for my home, Vista is just on a spare laptop, 7 on an all in one and 2 laptops, 8 on my Surfaces family's Surfaces a spare laptop and my gaming computer.

I use 8 wayyyyy more than the others though with my XP ghetto server in second.

For personal use, everything I have is on 8.1, but at work I'm forced to use 7. We're SO far behind on technology here...I had to beg them just to get me off of XP.

8.1 at home on an Acer touch notebook and my Samsung Slate.

Work - my desktop is 8, everything else is 95% Win7 due to 3rd party software compatibility. Mostly IE 10 incompatibilities. The remaining 5% is XP machines hiding from the executioner.

I use 8.1 on my desktop, but still 7 on my school laptop since we aren't allowed to upgrade them. However as soon as I quit school I will buy the laptop and upgrade it

Switched to Windows 8 as soon as it became available (with that cheap upgrade promotion) and havn't looked back since. In fact, when I have to use a Windows 7 PC now, I find myself cursing for it not being Windows 8 :P

Obviouly using 8.1 now, but I guess that's obvious

I'm still on 7 at home...my laptop still works, so no need to replace. It's a great OS. Now, my employer (bank) is still on XP! We are upgrading to 7 this year. I'm sure we would still be on 3.1 if MS supported it.

Why? 8.1 has a much better built-in option. Right-click the start icon and you have more choices than ever. I'm not advocating W8 over W7 but that is one feature that 8 has over 7 in spades. Everything happens for a reason, enough people complained about the lack of a start button when W8 was released that it got MS to create something even better than they ever planned.
