Good friends, I open this post to see if Nokia does not exist or there? ie if nokia will continue in the background along with designing and creating mobile microsoft high quality brand lumia windows phone? and so will only fabricate or microsoft?
I had read Nokia now be renamed MICROSOFT MOBILE, but that's my question, users should be concerned that we have a lumia mobile high or low range anyway, type 1020, 520, 1520, icon etc? I mean, we'll be updated or other mobile microsoft take out without the participation of Nokia?
I am very sorry that Nokia no longer exists as such, I have always been loyal to this company, nokia n95, n93 with optional zoom ... but memories, a hug

We've covered this topic many times over already and there's been news about the acquisition and what's involved for some time here on WPC.

So a quick run down for you.

    1. Nokia and Lumia names are available for MS to use for 10 years. I don't personally expect them to use it that long but the option is there.
    2. When you have acquisitions it's never a straight cut. People leave as is normal but on the whole there shouldn't be much difference in the quality of the product. I don't get the worry. The Surface is a great product made by MS as is xBox One.
    3. As with updates, if anything, they should be better. Of course as with all things there's a shelf life. I'm sure there will be continued support for newer models and what most people should consider a good life cycle of older products.

Nokia mobile is no longer in existence but Nokia still exists and has the option to start making phones in the future again. I forget the timeline but I think it's 5 years.

So no I don't think there's any concern. Most smartphones have a shelf life 2 to 3 years. I'm sure MS will want to keep their users happy otherwise they'll leave.

Simply put, Nokia is not a hardware company anymore. Nokia will be in three areas: Mapping tech, Enterprise solutions, and software development. They also retain all patents and the income that they generate.

While they could return to making hardware in the future, not sure why/how they would. No research and development, no supply lines, no focus on the marketing. I am not saying it won't happen, I am saying it is to far away to keep debating.

Nokia the hardware company is now an arm of MS. And if the Skype purchase is used as the example, MS will have reps among the top levels of mangement, but will leave the Nokia employees to do their thing under the Microsoft Mobility banner.

    At least we can hope....
