My wife just got a new Kia Sorrento with the upgraded infotainment system. I get excited because I see that it say powered by Microsoft. I think connecting my Icon would be no problem....... Fail. All I get is error messages. I then try my old 928..... Fail. My wife tries her iPhone 5S. Works like a charm.......

This is an RTFM issue - under Settings >> Bluetooth >> Advanced >> 'Use an alternate Bluetooth ...'

Try that, it just might work ...

Bluetooth worked, but when I plugged in the USB, fail. And yes I know just use Bluetooth, the point is plugging it in via USB should work.

Works on my Camaro and my friend's Scion and Camry so it's not really a fail. The phone is recognized as a USB mass storage device and I'm able to play media from it

Does it actually have USB Mass Storage or is the phone in MTP mode? That could be where the problem lies, if the head unit can't speak MTP.

my friend has a hyundai sonata, synced beautifully, my mom has a honda civic, synced just fine, maybe its a problem with the car settings or your phone settings? I've never had a problem syncing my phone to any car with bluetooth...(nokia lumia 1520)
