50000 job cuts. Under one man (not exactly)

...its baffling... 50000 Nokians lost their jobs (if you count the recent 12500) directly/indirectly because of/under Stephen Elop. And he still rises....makes more money....sad

I read a few articles about it. I guess some is the usual post-merger elimination of duplicate departments, but I'm sure it's depressing for the folks involved. The Elop guy seems like a bit of a, uh, well, his name in reverse. His letter announcing the layoffs was very poor.

I was surprised they dumped Mix Radio seeing as it's pretty good. Apparently they're spinning it off into a standalone product. I wonder how this will affect the development of WP.
