I had a BT cellnet massive phone first, then a few Nokia's (I think about 3 candy bar phones) then a couple if Sony Ericsson phones (they had amazing cameras), a couple of HTC phone before having a 920, then 930.

Well, ever since I had a phone I only know Nokia.
3210
3310
1110i
6300
Lumia 520
Lumia 720

Wow! It is a bit sad knowing that my next phone will not be Nokia. The quality of these phones are superb and I hope Microsoft will build on that known quality that you will still feel as if you are still using a Nokia.

I've had:
520 (test phone)
928, Icon, and 1520 (daily drivers)

I'm not loyal to Nokia/Lumia brand at all. I just want a WP with the best camera optics because good mobile photography is very important to me (when I don't have my Nikon on hand).

Since 1999. Those were my phones:
8210 (small and beautiful)
6100 (with a colour display but not so great, a bit slow)
6230 (the most powerful featurephone of its times)
N80 (my first Symbian smartphone)
N95 (a myth; it had anything one could imagine; still functioning)
N97 (a nice idea badly implemented; crippled by its slow processor and small RAM)
N8 (a very promising device, sabotaged by Nokia's decision to abandon Symbian; the best camera of its time)
Lumia 1020 (my most beloved of all; the best camera yet)
Lumia 630 (very impressive for its price; my backup phone; currently running W10 TP)

Nokia 5125, 3595,1100, 2600, 1208, 6070, 6630, x2-01, Lumia 620 -> Upcoming 822.

Do you plan on using the 822 on Verizon? If so, you might want to look at the 928 also. It's made for Verizon, only .99 cents on a 2-year contract and works on Verizon. Plus it's a bit easier to track down than the Icon, lol.

Nokia Lumia 928 - Specifications - Microsoft - USA

Granted, the 822 is only $88 on Amazon right now. For that price I'm tempted to buy one myself, lol.

It is indeed a fact! They have the best camera optics out there! I think Samsung is now trying to catch up with that, so MS must not compromise the quality build of Nokia plus , increases the tech used in the camera!

Right it is not just keeping the same level, it must be better ! Competition will be tough!

Amen to that, I'm hoping with the next flagship line they expand the great tech Nokia was doing. Ms owns the pureview tech now, I hope they don't waste it.

I love the idea that Nokia had, that phone cams should be for more than just sefies and quickpics. I can't wait to go hiking and see all the beautiful landscapes my icon can shoot, especially now with Lumia camera 5

You are right it is a very good step from MS but it needs to be backed up with more progress , real one not change names and rebranding!

I used to be Android loyal for about 5 years. Then an iPhone 5c broke that trend. Now I've got a phone from pretty much every Mobile OS.

I don't want to be loyal and miss out on all the great opportunities to try new things anymore. Technology is a feast, I sample all dishes.

Right now I've got a 635. Waiting on 640.

I've had:

822
710
925
530

Actually you have a logic! ... It doesn't necessarily mean "loyal" that I didn't try out some! Actually besides my L.930&620, I have a Samsung Note 4 :D ... But,I like the elegancy and simplicity of WP! And of course the old "Nokia.s" as the quality Build is\was absolutely perfect! ... But I have to ask , which felt better with you from them?!
