Why August 2nd and not July 28th?

Windows 10 was released for pcs on July 29th, 2015. Shouldn't the new anniversary update happen on July 28th or 29th? Or was there a reason for the 2-3 days delay?

It isn't a proper anniversary update if it's 3 days late, is it?

Or is it that upgrading a pc from 7 directly to redstone is risky?

What are your thoughts?

I think they just wanted a few extra days to get everything right. August 2 also happens to be a Tuesday, which was also the magic day for Windows Updates on Windows 7 and below, so there must be something magical about Tuesdays to Microsoft.

History of Patch Tuesday

Microsoft introduced "Patch Tuesday" in October 2003 to reduce the cost of distributing patches. This system accumulates security patches over a month, and dispatches them all on the second Tuesday of each month, an event for which system administrators may prepare.

Microsoft is doing it on Aug 2nd because anyone who hasn't upgraded will miss out on the Redstone 1 stuff. Win 7 and Win 8 users better upgrade before July 29 and then upgrade again on Aug 2 (for RS1)
