Accessing camera straight from lock screen on Surface 2

I sold my RT three weeks ago to fund the purchase of the 2, so I didn't have the first gen tablet with 8.1 on it to see if this was a feature. However, since I got my Surface 2 yesterday, I found out accidentally that I could swipe down from the lock screen and access the camera app. Bingo! Is this a Surface 2 feature, or an 8.1 feature? I'm almost certain this wasn't a feature on the RT.

8.1 setting.

PC Settings > PC and Devices > Lock Screen then scroll / swipe down to the bottom, there's a checkbox to enable / disable it. I see it both on my S2 and 8.1 PC.
