Surface 3: Benchmarking the younger brother

Should not be benchmarking against a Core powered device, all they share is a name, not the same league of device by any means.

Interesting. It's about what I expected but it is also nice seeing the Surface 3 not far behind the Pro 3 when it comes to multi-threaded performance. It is ~90MB/s lower but then again, the Atom consumes less power and produces less heat. RAM speed was as expected given that the Surface 3 uses lower-power modules.

All-in-all the Surface 3 doesn't seem like a bad unit. The CPU is formidable and the IGP, although not as good as the HD5000, is still enough to handle most tasks. I actually wonder if the 3DMark scores will increase with a proper update since the IGP in the x7 is new. It's my understanding that it is very similar to the graphics in the iPad Air 2 and that has scores in the 21,000 range instead of 14,000.

thats proably, why it's not that far behind the big brother in Multi core performace
