Is the Book 16gb/512gb ram a 4 core/8 ht model?

From what I have gathered it is an i7 6600U which is a dual core variant.

but you can't cram a full-fat quad-core chip into that tablet.

What would be really cool is if they could have another CPU in the base that activates when both are connected. Not actually doable now, but maybe Intel & Microsoft could come up with a way to pull it off in a future Surface Book.

Ha-ha. That would be really cool. I know servers can run dual CPU's but I think the clock speeds has to match and I don't know how that would work with a mobile device that always has fluctuating core speeds. That would be really neat though.
