Surface Book and docking station external monitor goes blank

Have my monitor connected via HDMI => Displayport => docking station and it was working fine for a while then suddenly would go blank and get stuck in a power saving mode loop. It works fine if I connect to the Displayport directly on the SB so I know it's not bad cable or monitor.

Anyone w/ similar issue?

May try an active cable for the docking station. You can find them on Amazon. You can also Google the passive cables causing issues with the docking station.
