Hi forum members,
So I caught wind of someone selling a surface book and dock at a good price (30-40% off new). He says he got it off a raffle, so no receipt.
People can be good, his story has details that seem very reasonable. But still... want some due diligence. Like:
Anyway to tell via serial number or such if it's stolen or other such secondhand dealings, or perhaps refurb? (sounds unlikely, but we're talking cragslist)
He says warranty doesn't begin until it's been registered w Microsoft. But... if no receipt, how will that work?
Any giveaways that the surface book is a lemon? Easy check for routine blue screens, pen issues, anything like that?
I'm meeting him tomorrow, so any quick tips and words of experience/caution are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
