SO i was about to buy a SB2, but then started to investigate how the battery could be replaced down the line. Macs you take to apple/diy, dell you can open them up and replace them etc. But it seems MS dont offer any battery replacements. It also seems that the SB2 is not repairable for anything as everything is surrounded by glue and unserviceable ?!?!

What are you all doing when you battery life goes bad in 24 months time? Getting new laptops? This seems insane to me for a 2500-3k machine?!

I honestly think it's dumb. I get that the manufacturer doesn't want to warranty repairs done outside of MS control, but at the same time, consumers should have the right to repair. It wouldn't surprise me if most of those components are proprietary, and difficult to get. I also wouldn't be surprised if some things are soldered in, like RAM and the SSD.
