Very excited about this. Am hoping that Cortana can be front and center, or at least get some control over my default assistant rather than the Bixby/Google situation I'm mired in now. To me, the Android issue is basically taking the conversation about Microsoft tilting at windmills in the mobile market off the table. There's never going to be the "distant third" narrative because this is positioned as a "fan" /premium/reference device rather than a serious play for market share. It also gets them past carrier certification battles. They can quarterback-sneak their Microsoft Experience behind an 800 pound Android Gorilla. But, I do hope that this paves the way for a 100% Microsoft device in this size and category over the longer term.

It's an Android device, then it's a phone. Nothing else. If Windows 10X, that will be different.

Maybe Duo will have a secret of "snapping" apart at the hinge, somewhat akin to SurfaceBook and be a modular device

You know; the name actually kind of implies that doesn't it? And we've seen that in previous microsoft concepts. We also know that no one was able to touch any of these prototypes.

    Interesting thought....

It's a Surface with telephony (so, a phone). Called Duo, most likely, because it has two screens and can run multiple apps and scale etc. The same way Nintendo has the DS (Dual Screen - now 3DS) hardware.
