I have had occasional touchscreen unresponsiveness upon waking up from sleep.

    Anyone encountered this?

PLS. Note I am using the 4gb model.

I've had this happen on my 8GB model. It doesn't happen enough to bother me, but hopefully there's a firmware update to address the issue.

I have had where when I wake up, the keyboard lights up and sometimes the screen stays black - I have to press the power on button a few times then windows restarts - I think I am brining it back to swap for another one

This happens to my surface go occasionally as well. Can anyone tell if this is a software or hardware related problem?

You do know that the "Go" will go into hibernation mode after sleep if it not on the charger and you have to tap the power button to wake it up...

Hasn't happened to me so far, though I haven't left my Go in sleep mode for extended periods of time.

It's not a matter of the Go not waking up. It's when the screen is on and you're back in windows but the touchscreen would not work. U can still work with the mouse etc.

Ok, i tried uninstall and reinstall the touchscreen driver in the device manager, so far there is no unresponsive touchscreen after waking up, it's been about a week without the issue.

Where did you go to get the driver from?

Refer to the solution 6 in the link above..

Just make sure u have a mouse connected to the Surface Go before you disable or uninstall the touchscreen driver, because the touchscreen will be unresponsive after u uninstall the driver. You will need the mouse to navigate to restart the device.

This is not good.. Hopefully this is a software issue that Microsoft awards of and will fix soon.

So with the 128gb version, it still happens occasionally.

Does the replace driver solution here still work?

It may just be coincidence, but it seems like it happens a lot less since I downloaded the drivers/firmware.

That said, it did happen to me this morning. First time in a week+

So I did the above updates and was good for a while but it started back up again.

Getting kinda frustrating. I'm close to doing a full reset.

By chance, do you use a screen protector?

    I do.
I was having the same issue and it appears to be that my screen protector was causing it. The next time it happens, try removing the protector and see if the screen starts working again.
