Im new here, don't know if its been asked before, i tried connecting my surface go to my Lenovo laptop to transfer some media (movies, music), but nothing happens on connection, no notifications, nothing.

So is it possible to connect your surface go to your laptop, and transfer media files between the two, or are there other methods?

Welcome to Windows Central.

Have you tried uploading your files to OneDrive on your Surface Go and then downloading them from OneDrive to the HDD on your Lenovo laptop?

And in case it hasn't been stated yet, make sure to backup your files like movies and music to an external hard drive.

I just use SDXC and adapter plugs for USBC, USB 3, and your basic "sneaker net" using 256GB SD SanDisk Extreme Pro. Also have Surface Dock, a USBC dock (works for MacBook and Surface Laptop 2). An SDXC card and USBC adapter to use with Samsung Galaxy S10+.
