The only reason I can think of for why it would be priced at $599 is because of the keyboard. Even then, I still think $599 is a lot to ask for. But if the Pro version is only $800 then I think that is a better value.
My personal opinio on the matter, what the prices should be to flourish in the market:
Windows Surface 32GB $599/649
Windows Surface 64GB $699/749
Windows Surface Pro 64GB $799/849
Windows Surface Pro 128GB $999/1049
Though to be honest they could be $100 more.
I'm getting one anyway... depeding on what Nokia have to show.
Anyone know if the UK will get them or is it going to be US only ?
Well, an iPad 32GB is the same price, doesn't have a keyboard or Office. Still, I think you're right and even with the extra value, they need to be more competitive, especially since the RT version will face the same challenge as the WP platform faced: lack of app.
$599 could be a a good deal if they include keyboard and Office.
