I'm guessing plenty of us will be jamming the phone lines on Tuesday morning if (when) there are no shipping notifications tomorrow.
My card was charged on Thursday and the transaction went straight through (Visa Debit card).
Same here.. it usually takes 2 days here for it to show on bank sites when using credit cards....
I want my Surface! =(
Typing this on my Surface which I received just this morning. I'm in London and it was delivered by UPS, I had no word to say it was coming, no e-mail to say it had been dispatched.
I was however a recipient of all the crazy e-mails Microsoft sent in error. Hope you all receive yours today as well.
Dude was there any correlation between you order number and you UPS shipping reference?
That is interesting news, you may be the first person in the UK! Would you be able to confirm if your card is showing a charge and also exactly what you ordered?
I ordered a 32gb unit with the bundled black touch cover, both were in the same box, in the same package.
I'll check my accounts for how the transactions took place...
You shouldn't post things like this, it gets me even more excited and I know i'll be let down by MS. I'm getting it delivered to my work in London too, what a pleasant surprise it would be if it turned up, no delivery note, no change on my paypal, so i'm not hopeful though.

On Twitter with the hashtag #SurfaceWatchUK someone else just posted that their Surface arrived, so I think this is genuine :)

My order was cancelled on Saturday. Their official explanation was that the name on the card does not match the name on the billing address, but:
1. I placed the order correctly, it's their system that messed up the names (the one in the shipping address was supposed to be different). Also, 3 customer reps reassured me last week that this would not cause a problem.
2. I used the exact same details when I ordered Windows 8, and that worked just fine
3. My bank authorised the payment!!!
The funds (£479) are still on hold in my account, but this goes deeper. I called my bank and they said that not only did they authorise the payment for the preorder but that THERE WAS A SECOND TRANSACTION FROM MICROSOFT! For the same amount, on Saturday, which my bank did not authorise, and rightly so.
So, the way I see it, I did nothing wrong (I placed the order correctly and the Win 8 order went through just fine), my bank did nothing wrong (I would expect them to reject duplicate transactions), but Microsoft tried to bill me twice and screwed up big time!
I talked to 5 customer reps to far, the penultimate one requested a proof from the bank that they authorised the payment, after which the case will be escalated. The last rep I talked to promised this issue will be solved, but couldn't promise how.
Anyway, sorry for the rant... I was really looking forward to the Surface, but there's no way I will get one sooner than 3 weeks and, in this case, I'm not quite sure I still want one...
Phoned MS again this morning. They still have no idea if it's shipped/tracking details, when it would ship by, when to expect delivery by.
Sounds like they're in a real mess.
oh poopy i live in london, ordered £479 bundle, my money is on hold, and no delivery yet! Waiting for this surface makes me feel like a child whose parents refuse to give me a toy i spotted at toys-r-us... i might end up throwing a toddler tantrum on customer service line on wednesday if this gadget does not arrive by tomorrow :straight:

Hi, I had similar problems, when I pre-ordered mine, though in a bit different situation. On the 18th I clicked the submit order button at the bottom of the review page, and received an error message saying something went wrong, and I should contact customer support. However the money was reserved on my bank account. Strange, so I went to my account and clicked Order History, and found nothing there. So I first called my bank, and asked what this transaction is, they said it's from the Microsoft Store, and I can't cancel it, only they can. So I called Microsoft and I told the rep that I had my account billed, but there's no order appearing in my account. She told me not to worry, they will cancel that one, and she told me it was because the cardholder name was not matching the one on the card entered. I am pretty sure though, that I entered my name correctly. When I asked how come then, that they successfully billed me, she couldn't explain, but she offered, that we should go through the order process together again. So we did, and she told me afterwards, that everything is all right now... Haven't received mine yet, just all those mails that everyone else. In result the money was reserved two times on my account, then both was cancelled, and then on Saturday I was billed once again... and until I read your post I thought this to be a sign for hope...

Spoke to a nice chap in customer services this morning, he confirmed that my payment had gone through (although it hasn't shown up on my credit card statement yet) but he had no idea of when the device would arrive, I half expected him to say "eventually" with a neat Spanish accent. I refrained from performing my Basil Fawlty impression though!!!!!
So the moneys actually left your account and then came back in? Weird they'd give you your surface before taking the money for real.
The money left my account after the initial preorder and then was restored.
My cleared funds this morning are £900 less than they were last night, so presumably they've charged me twice sometime in the night, but my bank isn't yet showing any details of the transaction.
Mine just arrived as well just picked it up from the office mailroom not even unpacked it yet. Work is going to be a long day today.
Edit should say I am in Lonondon.
Any idea if the tracking number resembles your order number in any way?
I just had my work postroom check every box and parcel that's come in this morning...there's an unclaimed Nexus7 there, but no Surface, though UPS hasn't delivered yet.
It was KILLER looking at the Surface wrap-around cover on the Metro this morning too...

Anyone else worried that we are all going to be completely underwhelmed when the damn thing actually arrives?!
It's like going to see a movie after everyone has raved about it and you've waited AGES to see it - it's totally set up for disappointment.
