Surface 2 running warm!

I'm just surfing the web and noticed the surface 2 top right (landscape) is hot just by surfing the web. I looked at the task manager and noticed the CPU would spike to 100 percent at times. Nothing is running in background but IE and that is just browsing the web.

Yes, I do notice that the Surface 2 does run warm sometimes. But I've only experienced this while playing games. Are you sure nothing else is running - maybe some background maintenance task?

On desktop view it does say maintenance in progress. What maintenance is it doing?

Good question. I have seen this maintenance in progress state many times. It is hard to determine what exactly is happening in the maintenance process. I think that we are all just experiencing the normal minor bugs that exist with a brand new product running a brand new OS. I am pretty confident that over time, all of these issues will get worked out. Unless your Surface 2 is overheating, I wouldn't worry too much about it yet.

Something's off, I used the surface around 3hours and its already down to 45 percent. Basic webbrowsing and YouTube videos.
