Heat killing the Surface 2 Pro battery?

Like many of you I also noticed that my Surface 2 Pro can get pretty hot. I was wondering whether this heat isn't killing the batteries inside. We all know that batteries and higher temperatures are enemies. My old laptop "consumed" and killed 2 batteries during quite a short time because of the heat. It won't stay on batteries for longer than 2 minutes now. Not having replaceable batteries in my Surface 2 Pro - a $1,500 worth piece of hardware is quite a concern. Anyone thinks the same?

Heat can degrade batteries, but only extreme heat can cause them to explode.

I'd say it's fine if it's below 30?C, but I recommend keeping them at room temperature foe as long as possible.

And, yes, I have experience with hot batteries, I live in the Philippines, after all!
