Why cant I download certain stuff on my RT?

Hello, I want to download stuff like, Avast, Utorrent, Minecraft but I am unable to do so when trying to download any of them... Does anyone know why?

Because they aren't store apps. Aside from what comes with Windows RT (like Office and Explorer, command prompt, nothing else will run. RT only supports running store apps. On the technical side, it's because the apps you have listed are for x86 Windows. RT uses an ARM based processor - it doesn't know how to run x86 code, which is what those programs are built for.

If you want to run normal programs you need a Surface Pro.

Edit: Except uTorrent.

Windows RT tablets are not full Windows tablets. They are based upon the ARM architecture, which is found in mobile devices like mobile phones.
Normal Windows as you know it is x86, which is found in laptops and desktops.
Both are inherently incompatible.

So you can only run Store apps on the RT, much like how you can only run iOS apps on the iPad (and can't run OSX apps on it)

On the plus side, since normal apps cant run, virii can't either. (so Avast or AV is not needed)
