I moved my Surface 3 into the Windows Insider Fast Ring yesterday and immediately installed build 16226. After restarting, the Mail and Calendar apps were invisible. They were installed, because I could get to them from the People app, but they weren't in the All Apps list, and ever weirder, when they were running, they did not appear in the Task Bar!

I tried to roll back and ended up with my Surface in a state where it would just boot to the BIOS settings.

I've downloaded a recovery image & I'm going to try to install that. Stay tuned!

I could not get the recovery image to work - despite using the "Volume Down + Power" combination, it always booted into the BIOS.

In desperation I turned off Secure Boot, and lo and behold, the rollback completed & I was in the older version of Windows.

I was able to turn Secure Boot back on, and the Surface boots OK.

Two minor remaining problems:

1. The upgrade to build 16226 shows as a failed update in Windows Update history.
2. In Mail, when I go to my Hotmail inbox, the window caption is in Greek(!), but not for the inbox for my ISP.
