I got the docking station this week. It is cool. Wondering...I'd like to walk up, dock it, then click the mouse or keyboard to wake it. Seems like I still have to click the power button to wake it. Anyone else have this wish/issue? Solution?

I would recommend using the power button.
Mouse on desk, always move, a 1mm movement will wake up the device, and it will annoying (it will feel like it always wakes up on it's own).
Keyboard is fine, but I am not sure if the keyboard cover will be affected, which might be an issue if you close the keyboard cover and while you transport it, wake up due to a key press. Not sure. While I don't have anymore the SP2 (faulty, going to order a new one once back in stock), look under Device Manager (Start > Type: Device Manager), then go under Keyboard, and double click on the sub items that you see. You should have a tab called: Power Management. Inside you should have an option to make allow it to wake up the device (and it will when you press a key). Try and see.

Follow up question regarding the docking station. So, if you have the SP2 sitting in the docking station (sitting to one side of a larger monitor), and you have the Type Cover 2 sitting in front of the monitor (the larger monitor, NOT attached to the SP2), will the Type Cover 2 be able to work with the SP2 via bluetooth, or do you have to have the Wireless Adapter hooked up to the Type Cover for it to communicate? Hope that made sense.

You will need to get Surface wireless adapter bar which you connect to the Type or Touch keyboard magnetic connector.
Wireless Adapter - Microsoft Store Canada Online Store
(check out the pictures for better understanding).

    Alternatives:
-> You can get a bluetooth keyboard which you pair to the Surface Pro device.
-> If you have a desktop PC with your own keyboard and mouse. You can use the free Microsoft Mouse Without Border software, which allows you to control multiple computers using your main (desktop) keyboard and mouse running any version of Windows (XP and up). Alternative software: Input Director. Also, free.

If you want a nice professional looking keyboard. I personally recommend the Logitech Illuminated keyboard. Sadly it's not wireless. There is a wireless (2.5Ghz, not Bluetooth) version, but the key stoke, key engraving, and back light illumination are all inferior. Not awful, still fine, but not as good.

Thanks for confirming I'd need to get the Wireless Adapter to allow me to use the Type Cover 2 without being attached to the SP2. Wasn't sure if there was a bluetooth built in being so close to each other. I figured I could get another bluetooth keyboard or even plug a keyboard into the docking station, but needing to keep the cost down with all the little extra "stuff" that is needed to make this work the way I want to. It will be primarily a work station with the ability to be able to "hit the road" when need be. I'll need the Type Cover for sure and as long as it does a reasonable job, that will work fine until I want to splurge on a larger wireless keyboard. Thanks again for all the info.
