With internal ssd space at a premium (but not yet full) I am considering using a microsd card for any high volume data that doesn't need such fast access (esp. random).
I'd ordered a sandisk ultra 200GB (u1/a1) but having researched some more, see that the random I/o performance of cards like the Samsung evo plus range (ie their 200GB card) is quite significantly better
Any thoughts?
Example data might include
- Movies ( I only have these occasionally for flights)
- Backups (ie with easeus)
- File downloads
Possibles
- onedrive cache
- lightroom cc (but worried how it might affect performance)
Probably best on ssd
- source code for compilation
- spotify cache
