Surface Pro 3 and Xbox One Kinect v2 not connecting

I have a brand new kinect for Xbox One that I bought together with the Microsoft adapter for windows.Despite connecting,downloading and trying out different SDKs from 1.7,1.8 and 2.0 I cannot get the kinect to be recognized or even the drivers to show in the control panel.Does that mean my surface pro doesnt support kinect v2? My computer is up to date and everything.Any heads up on the way forward is greatly appreciated.Thank you.
