SP3 TPM Update Tool

For a while, my security center has warned me of a vulnerability, which now, appears to be available for a fix via the TPM Update tool. I was surprised that there was not much news on this tool, nor was it available through windows update. Is this something regular SP3 users should install?

I would install it as I'm not sure what the implications of not updating it are. My SP4 had a vulnerability in the TPM but the update downloaded and installed through Windows Update.

I finally got around to installing it. It was a bit nerve racking because of all the warnings of "might loose data". Also there are a lot of steps required to get it done. I just followed them exactly and it went through (even had to do the extra reboots that they warned about in the instructions).

I feel better that now it's all patched up. I'm hoping that in the future, now that this firmware update is in, that anymore firmware updates go through the normal windows updates and not having to do it 'manually'.
