Anyone heard whether SP4 still uses Marvell Avastar WiFi adapter?

Thanks for reminding me of that nightmare. I think it finally works *correctly* on the SP3 and earlier, or maybe just because I quit trying to do advanced things like run Hyper-V on it.

Well, AnandTech has a review up, and they're showing the Avastar adapter. Jeez, I sure hope it works better in the SP4 than it does in the 3.

How is it faster? If it is the exact same? I get 300 at home and sp3 gets half that. Wife's mac air gets 300. The only thing keeping me from upgrading was the WiFi performance. Wish I can take one home just to try it out.

I get exactly 300. However, every once in a while, it'll disconnect, the device will disappear completely (as in my SP4 briefly thinks it has no WiFi, and then it'll come back on and reconnect. Happened 3 times today.

Blerg, why do they insist on still using that terrible chip. Bad performance, no options in the driver, worse performance if you use Bluetooth devices, buggy out of sleep, ...
