Buying surface pro 4

Hello im new the the surface pro line and im interested in buying the SP4 i5 8gb
In Europe because there aren't any shops that sells surface brand in my country.
I want to do a check the device before buying it to avoid buying a defective product.
Can anyone give me tips befor buying and what should i look for befor purchasing the device..?

It still has a lot of hardware issues. I really hate mine

First of all. I have a i5/8/256.
It's very hard to give any specific what to look for.
I bought one as soon as they started selling them in my country.
I had some issues that i tried fixing with a bit of first aid.
Then after some time i got fed up and reinstalled windows 10. This time i didn't keep anything.
As clean installation as i could get.
And now it works very well and i am happy with it.
It is a secondary machine for me and i watch movies and surf the internet and some easier games.
But i can squeese out about 9 hours of movie watching.

So i think it's more of getting lucky as i have something good and some has problems.
