Surface Keyboard Keeps Disconnecting!

Quick question..I just got a Surface Pro 6. Every time I close the keyboard, the computer makes the usb disconnect sound. Then when I open the keyboard to turn the computer back on, it takes a minute to reconnect t and makes the usb connection sound.

Is this normal? I’ve had one before and don’t remember this. I’ve reinstalled the driver and rest the computer to no avail.

Any help is welcome. Thank you for reading.

same for me. I do not see any delay though when the SP6 wakes up. Keyboard is ready instantly

Maybe set the action of closing the cover within the 'old' control panel application.
