Surface Pro 3 Cases/Sleeves
- Been looking at that one as well for a few weeks now. I was looking at it again and noticed there were only 4 left of the 13" Retina (this is the closest in size to the SP3 with still room in width, height and depth so type cover won't be a problem. I am curious if the power block will fit on the other side in the sleeve where it appears to be a notepad of if it will put too much pressure on the SP3 when zipped up, guess I'll find out Friday when it gets here.08-19-2014 01:35 PMLike 0
- have you guys considered getting a skin kit for your surface pro 3? for a while i was against skins but i purchased one recently from stickerboy. it came in yesterday and the application went smooth (i guess i did just fine for my first time) because they have a tutorial video. I purchased the black carbon skin from the carbon fiber series but i did not get the sides. now that i look at it, i want to get the sides but a different color so it stands out! i looovvveeee the way my SP3 looks. im thinking about getting a skin for my mother's ipad too. at checkout, i used the promo code "DECAL" that i found on one of the coupon code sites and i got 10% off my entire order. hey, it paid for the taxes and shipping
i would like to share some pictures with my fellow SP3 users especially those that hate carrying bulky cases but dont want to get scratches on their SP3. PLEASE let me know what you think about it! your feedback is greatly appreciated.

08-20-2014 10:48 AMLike 0 - So the zip leather organizer just showed up, I got it on Amazon, I can't post a link yet but a link is on pg.6 post #127 of this thread.
Quality is nice but I really don't think this will work with a SP3 with type cover. Reason I say that is sliding the SP3 into the pocket I have to push it down there pretty firmly to get it past the zipper and it fits pretty tightly. I got the 13" Retina version as the dimensions for that unit had the highest height measurements which I wanted to ensure the type cover would have plenty of room. The sleeve that holds the SP3 only has a expandable side on the right side (next to the zipper), the left side and bottom are stitched to the organizer itself. If these were expandable as well then there would be plenty of wiggle room with no pressure on the type cover and surface. If you are going to go without the type cover than it fits pretty good, a little snug but not nearly as bad as with the typecover. I also put in a small usb powered external hard drive in the pocket on the left site and closed the organizer, that seemed to make it a little tight to zip it closed adding even more pressure on the SP3. There is no way you are going to fit the power block in this thing. It's a shame, I was really hoping this would work for me. It's very nice though and I will keep it and find other uses for it. Just thought I'd share my experience for those who were looking at it. There is a 15" version but honestly I think that would be way too big as I was a little surprised as of to how large the 13" unit is (10.75" wide, 15" tall, almost 1" depth).08-22-2014 05:13 PMLike 0 - Hmmm.... Well, at this point, as much as I want it, unless I find a new job very soon, I won't be getting one. I was given 60 days notice today that I will be getting laid off.08-22-2014 10:00 PMLike 0

Those Marcoo ones are all sold out! They are nice.
Sold out accessories are good signs of a healthy surface pro 3 economy.08-25-2014 05:23 PMLike 0 - Here's a minimalist leather sleeve case. just plain slip in and out. And the best part of this minimalist case is that they included stitching logo of Windows on the side.

This is great for those who just need to protect their surface inside their backpacks/briefcase full of pens, paper clips, car keys, knife, pizza cutters, etc. its quick and easy to grab.
I have this and its really tight putting the surface in w the type cover. Even harder taking it out.08-25-2014 05:29 PMLike 0 - SP3 not here until Monday, was intent on the Maroo Woodland or Black sleeve (I have a sleeve for SP1 which I carry in a shoulder man bag), but Amazon decent price out-of-stock, MS store in-stock but 4-5 day delivery, and really wanted one ready for Monday.
Then I found the below, which I'm sure were not around a day or so back. So ordered the blue on Prime delivery to match my SP3 keyboard. Looks avpretty good design over and above a standard sleeve, e.g. Snug.

Sent from my Surface 2 using Tapatalk08-30-2014 02:07 PMLike 0 - After seeing the post above I purchased the ESR folio case and sleeve case. Both are nice but the SP3 just begs to be naked so I prefer the sleeve alone. The sleeve is excellent and I would recommend it if the style suits you. The folio is nice, if you need the protection the fit is perfect with or without keyboard and the construction is quite rigid.09-23-2014 10:10 PMLike 0
- Couple thoughts for those looking at cases/sleeves:
1) Before buying a booklet style case, realize that this will almost double the weight of your SP3 and will limit your ability to enjoy it as a pure tablet in portrait.
2) When looking at sleeves, remember you may also want to transport your charger and a slim mouse. Get a sleeve with a zippered pouch for these as well. May not look as slick but is more functional. One caveat to this. If you store your power brick in the same sleeve as your SP3, do not put it into a stuffed backpack. The pressure on the power brick could shatter your SP3 screen.
Honestly, the BEST solution is a lightweight computer bag with a strap with room for your SP3, powerbrick and mouse that you can carry over your shoulder comfortably WITHOUT putting it into a purse or backpack. You DO NOT want to ever put pressure on your screen. Due to the cutouts for the speakers and mic, the screen can shatter easily.Last edited by Bill Mitchell; 09-24-2014 at 12:47 PM.

- Here is a wonderful bag for your SP3. It is stylish and well made, is designed for a 12" laptop with a vertical orientation and has plenty of room for mouse, powercord, stylus, etc. Only $39.99 at OfficeDepot. A steal. It also has a nice shoulder strap which for me is a must.

P.S. The electric blue is slightly different in color than the cyan one. I have a cyan Incipio feather case and the cyan type cover, and the electric blue sleeve makes for a nice contrast that doesn't clash.10-25-2014 01:38 AMLike 0 - I searched for a longtime. I even bought and returned a can & didn't like. I settled on this ore. It's great and minimalist.

I loved it. Unfortunately, "out of stock" and "will ship in three months" weren't phrases I was comfortable with. With that being said, an extremely helpful Microsoft representative at Best Buy (I have to compliment this gentleman, far more helpful than representatives at the actual brick and mortar stores) directed me towards the Belkin and Platinum cases they carry. I was unsold on the Belkin as it did not have the compartment I so desperately long for as storage for my Arc Touch mouse. So, that left the Platinum case, and truth be told, it is great. I wanted a more fabric-like feel, but this finish feels more water resistant. Very happy.
My only concern is whether or not leaving an intel-based "always on" system in a sleeve is safe. I'm going to assume so as Microsoft sells these things.10-28-2014 07:44 PMLike 0 - Went looking for the Incipio ORD case, as I have the similar Incipio case that I used for my Surface RT and Surface 2. I've left in the sleeve for hours and didn't have any issues upon waking it.10-31-2014 03:28 AMLike 0
- Wow, to me, this looks gorgeous. Now if only I could justify $108..... And stay married, I mean.
Amazon.com: Brown Zip-Around Leather Organizer Clutch Case for Apple 13-Inch MacBook Air: Electronics
It is also thick. There are a few layers of leather plus whatever stiffener is inside, to consider. I think I would prefer if it didn't have so many pockets. They make it tempting to fill them up, which QUICKLY adds to the bulk. For now, I think I will carry my Microsoft Arc Touch mouse, and a small 4-port USB hub and a 6" USB cable. The hub and cable are in the pocket with the flap, and the mouse goes into the pocket without a cover. I wouldn't mind if the pen holders on the right side and the pocket on the right side were gone. There is a pen holder in the middle that I put my Surface pen into, but there's only really room for one. The business card holders barely fit a business card, so don't count on those unless you want to put just a couple cards in them.
As for carrying it, like I said, I haven't used it much. But I think I will probably end up agreeing with several of the reviewers who said that they wish it had a handle. This isn't as big as the MB 15" that some of them are referring to, but it is still a good deal of bulk. Like I said, it would be nicer, I think, if there were fewer pockets.
Overall, I like it fairly well. There are some drawbacks - all the pockets make it mighty tempting to fill them up - but overall, I think it is a good folio. I'm not so sure it's worth $108, but it is pretty nice.11-06-2014 02:09 AMLike 0 - Good point - but see how I have it in there with the screen to the back? To me, it just goes better that way, sliding it in and out the way I do puts it in the most convenient position for the way I set it up, and so forth. Not only that, but a side-effect is that any pressure will be on the back, not the front, from things put into the pockets. As for screen protection, anything that's going to damage it has to get enough pressure through the leather back, the stiffening material in the back, a layer of some thin felt-feeling stuff (not really worth mentioning), and the TypeCover, before it can hurt the screen. I think it's pretty safe.11-06-2014 10:24 AMLike 0
