Windows 9: Resolution support up to 8k, better DPI scaling - Neowin

According to the folks over at PCportal, who appear to have an older build of Windows 9, it looks the next major installment will support high resolution displays up to 8K.

Windows 8 already does a decent job of this especially in "universal apps". The problem is that many older applications don't actually bother to check for this setting. The only solution I know of would be to have them pixelate the program if it doesn't support DPI settings. This means they would have to check to see if the program handles it itself. I suspect this would slow down things. Hopefully more programs will support this soon because I noticed how horrible it was on my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro. I hate the screen on it not just because everything is microscopic, but because its pentile. I would rather have it be a low res screen. oh well.
