My SP3 history is only 10 weeks old. My original one a i7/256 is now my wifes. I now have a i7/512 (due to a 400 Adobe discount).

I have just about move all my stuff from OSX/Macs. I installed Chrome on both my SP3's as I like the syncing. But, as most of you will know Chrome isn't the fastest on Windows. I setup IE 11, removed Chrome completely from one SP3... wow, faster by lot's. IE11 also seems faster as a browers, integration is better and no more long lists of Chrome tasks running in the background.

I do like Chrome, but not at such a performance hit.

I use maxthon nitro for quick browsing. It is very light. I also use Firefox for ad block and other add ons.

I'm surprised your SP3 is getting slow with i7 processor, especially as you got it recently. Maybe you have a virus or some resource hog.

Btw, chrome sucks, so well done on uninstalling it.
