I've been looking at Surface 3 Pros for a bit but I'm not entirely sure which one to get, or if I should get one. My main use will be recording and editing multi-track music using something like Sonar and other audio tools.

So I need it to be reasonably quick so that it can record live audio accurately and in good resolution, and be able to manipulate it afterwards. Is the Surface any good for that kind of thing? Does it have good read/write storage speed? Does it have the processing power needed? Can it run something like Sonar ok? If so, which model should I get? Thanks.

Check out this video on YouTube. He compares the Surface Pro 3 to the Surface 3 using quite a few different audio recording software. It should answer questions you may have in regards to the Surface line being able to work with audio files. Keep in mind that fans for the Pro 3 will kick on when doing anything intensive.
