Issues with camera and video files

I'm having some problems with the camera app. Every time I try to record a video (using front or rear facing camera), the resulting file is unplayable. The file created is .mp4, usually 81kb is size regardless of how long it's been recorded for. Is this a camera app issue, playback issue or hardware problem? Any thoughts?

Are your pictures/videos saving to sd card? If yes, try saving to internal memory
Second solution is get another app for recording and check what happens

It is difficult to conclude about the actual issue after reading the post. Try using an another app and cross verify the results.
Secondly, you should always check for firmware updates of the Camera. Sometimes these quick checks solve the problem/
