    hey folks

i'm on version 1511 build 10586.420. recently i have notice the fan on the sp4 firing at full speed. this morning, i'm using outlook 2016 (32bit) and i noticed the fan was at full blast and my screen was getting warm to the touch. I looked at task manager and saw that outlook was using 65% of cpu ... 65% just sitting there waiting for emails to come thru. I closed outlook and the fan started to calm down but never actually turned off.

Then it started going at full speed again. check task manager and saw that now OneNote was using 45% of cpu .... OneNote is just sitting there with one of my document open ....

Anyone else having issues where their sp4 just ramp up in cpu and fan when there isn't anything going on? On top of that, battery life is horrid with using wifi and remote into another workstation to do daily work.

at this point, i feel like take a trip up to redmond and bashing on Panos Panay's head.

Have you done a full restart? Sometimes glitches happen... The only thing to do is restart the computer and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then I'd consider uninstalling and reinstalling office once again.

better would be to repair office - you can do that by going to control panel > uninstall programs > select office and choose repair

Very true. I've sometimes not been able to solve some office issues with that feature. But give it a try! You never know and you have nothing to lose.
