    Hello,

    From the other thread about the shipping I gather that none of the orders for the Canadian store has been shipped.

    I ordered mine on the 10/16 just before the public announcement.

    Did someone from Canada received their shipping notification yet?

    Some on other sites have reported they have. It appears to all be related to location to a shipping center.

    I just ordered right now to make sure the reviews were not too bad. I don't use a tablet for eight hours of video viewing without power access, I accept an OS update with early-adoption and I believe in MS to get us all the big name apps.

    Anyways it says 1-2 weeks for mine to arrive. Makes sense. I did wait a few extra days.

    Yes but if it doesn't ship in time, I'm not getting it on Friday :P And I want it on the release day, otherwise I could of gone to the nearest Microsoft store.

    Haven't seen anything yet myself.

    Did a chat with one of the support rep. Like others have said they're insisting that they'll be delivered on the date in the receipt. Still not seeing any credit card charges either...

    I ordered on the morning of the 18th. My receipt said for delivery on 10/26 (like everyone else). No changes in status, so I chatted with a Microsoft CSR today and the guy said it will ship from 1 to 2 weeks of purchase date. I told him about my receipt and the fact when I ordered, the site said 10/26. He responded that that date was good for the U.S. only. Canada was 1-2 weeks right from day one.

    Needless to say I was pretty pissed. This whole process has been a complete gong show for me and I'm not impressed on how a tech giant screwed the pooch on this.:mad:

    That is certainly frustrating! I ordered yesterday so obviously have no grounds to expect, or complain about receiving a Surface on release day. However you certainly should have expected better. Does the American Surface ordering site say o e to two weeks for shipping like the Canadian one, or are we the only ones with that little treat?

    Was thinking to cancel mine and do the same. I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon and decide.

    One thing to note, in the other thread I saw a post where someone said their cover was coming from Ontario, Canada.

    Makes me think maybe MS did think ahead and have some stockpiles already in warehouses in Canada to be sent out tomorrow. Especially if others orders are being filled from here. (Given its on a touch cover but nonetheless)

    Still no shipping info. I do not feel confident I will have my Surface on Friday. I expect it to arrive sometime next week. Crappy, but since there is no Microsoft Store anywhere near my place (closest would be about 10 hours away), I will have to endure.

    ps/ as I mentioned before, I had ordered my 64GB model about 6 minutes after the pre-orders went live.

    pps/ Why can I not find the chat option on the Microsoft Store site. Does it not exist for Canada?

    Got a shipping confirmation but only for my touch cover (Cyan). Don't know if it's a good sign or a bad one :)

    Yeah I also got a shipping confirmation for my Cyan Touch Cover. My account page still says the Surface itself is still in process but at least i'll have my keyboard.

    There is a chat feature for the Canadian site - I just can't remember where - I used it yesterday.

    I'm interested if anyone outside the U.S. will get their order Friday. Judging by what is being said on the UK thread, it seems like not. Microsoft messed this up in a big way by promising delivery by 10/26 on the international pre order sites. If international shipments fall behind the U.S. that's fine, but at least say so during the order process. It stretches ethics a bit otherwise.

    Just got my confirmation email.

    Now since I have an insider at a UPS tracking center (my lovely wife) I sent her the tracking # and should be able to provide me with a small delivery window (most times within the hour of when it should arrive).

    There may be hope yet that it could arrive for tomorrow.

    Off the live chat with another Rep, Tyler H this time, and he won't cave in. Keeps telling me it's here by tomorrow, as stated originally, EVEN THOUGH there is no indication that it shipped.

    Tyler H: Thanks for contacting Microsoft Store Chat! How can I help you today?
    You: Morning Tyler, seems like you guys just opened :)
    Tyler H: We did! How are you this morning?
    You: I'm okay, and yourself?
    Tyler H: Great! How can I help you this morning?
    You: I know I'm another "one of them", but we're very anxious about our tablets. when I chatted with a rep yesterday morning, he told me they would ship out at 2PM, yesterday with UPS 3 day. Now reps are saying it's shipping with next day air. Is there a definitive answer, or are reps really just throwing it out there without information. Most of us ordered by the 10/26 cutoff.
    Tyler H: Okay, I'd be happy to help answer your questions about your Surface order!
    Tyler H: Can I have your order number?
    You: Sure. xxxxxxxxxxxx
    You: I've tried the reference number lookup that was discussed on several websites. I got nothing out of it.
    Tyler H: Okay.
    Tyler H: Just one moment while I look that up for you!
    You: No problem.
    Tyler H: One moment.
    Tomer: Okay :)
    Tyler H: Can I ask if you received your confirmation e-mail?
    Tomer: For shipment, or for the order?
    Tyler H: For the order.
    Tomer: I did.
    Tyler H: Okay, the shipping date and date that you will receive your Surface should be included in your e-mail, and will still be correct. You should receive your order by the 26th!
    Tomer: That's tomorrow, though? And there's no indication that the order has shipped.
    Tomer: And if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow, as promised by Microsoft, yourself, and hundreds of it's customer service employees, what happens?
    Tyler H: According to your order information, that date should be correct, and if you do not receive it on time, you can feel free to contact us tomorrow with further questions. As I said, your order should be arriving on time.
    Tomer: okay, not a problem. Thank you Tyler.

    It's possible but unlikely. As we cannot get the shipping information from FedEx and UPS, the only hope is Canada Post.

    If the Surface is dispatched this evening as Canada Post Expedited Parcel, it is still possible to arrive tomorrow.

    It's also possible that the tablet has been shipped from China, but we cannot find it using our reference number number. It seems this option is very unlikely.


    Let's see what will happen tomorrow, and decide if blame or love Microsoft.

    My Touch Cover is being sent through UPS so I am not too confident about the Canada Post idea. If there is not confirmation email by days end tomorrow then I will start worrying if I will get my Surface on time. The keyboard will be useless without one.

    Here's the answer I got from the live chat feature of the store:

    According to the record, your order has been sent to the Warehouse but not yet shipped, but you should be receiving it by 10/26.

    I ordered mine on 10/16 at 10:00AM EST. It seems that what I saw on others websites is correct: They sent the tablets to warehouse near the delivery address and so the shipping notice would be sent very late in the process : i.e. today or even tomorrow morning.

    So no Surface for me till Monday. I will drown my sorrows in a 24 hour gaming marathon. If I had received my Surface, I would have celebrated with a 24 hour gaming marathon. Either way, I game.
