The guys hates everything Microsoft it sounds like....his biggest issues?

RT - Software (I'm okay with this considering apps were very few when Surface RT was released)
WP-Hardware (Absolutely nothing wrong with the hardware, esp. now. )
W8-He basically hinted at the lack of a start menu. (Sounds like he is too stubborn to learn)

I am so sick of the Start Menu BS. If any of the complainers would sit and read a little about Win8 instead of spending the time complaining they would see it really is not needed. I dare anyone to give me a valid reason they actually need a Start Menu.....

I agree with you. I rarely used the Start Menu in Win7. I preferred to pin my most frequently used programs to the taskbar in Win7. I do the same thing in Win8 desktop mode. It's easy, even on a traditional non-touch desktop.
