So whilst comparing my RT with my friends' iPad tonight I went to show him the Office RT apps and one by one they came up "link not there ... Search?" Having lost all the Office RT apps from the desktop we looked (Win + Q) on the UI and they are not there either. Search by "Word" or "Excel" and they have vanished. What in the f*** is going on here? Utterly baffled. Anyone?

its like if someone someone uninstalled office from your surface RT and you didnt notice it.

hmm but what about this? Repair Office Home and Student 2013 RT
did you try something like that? maybe that will do the job.

That's exactly what it looks like! But I haven't uninstalled Office and no-one else has touched the machine. Bizarre.

did you try something like that? maybe that will do the job.

Well I rebooted the RT and could then search/find the Office programs. I repinned them to the taskbar; they had removed themselves when the links were "not found". When I started Word I was greeted with the "Welcome to Office" video just as when you use Office for the first time on an RT.

Totally baffled as to what has happened here, but Office behaves as if it was a fresh install overnight. Most odd.
