Just picked up a Surface RT.
When I try to connect to my home wireless network (Netgear WNR2000-100NAS) I get the message "the wireless network security key is not correct" even though it is. The router is configured to use WPA2 for the security protocol.
The router also has a WPS button and if I go that route I can connect with no problem. I just don't want this to be my default security because of the inherent flaws.

Tried connecting at work. Another wireless router using WPA2. Linksys EA2700. Same problem..same error message. This router also has an open guest network that is password protected and the Surface connects just fine to that one.

Has anyone experienced this problem and figured out a solution?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

The only thing I can think of is something that has tripped me up 2 or 3 times. I use wireless keyboards that do not have Num Lock and Shift Lock leds.

I know how stupid this question sounds but as I said it has tripped me up. Have you made sure shift lock is not causing bad input?

Once I even had the keyboard set as French and I was typing English....that took a bit to figure out after I popped my cork in frustration. :)

Any way it never hurts to check....

As well as Num Lock and language settings, watch for a space before or after the password.
Try changing the password on the router to something like abc123456 and testing. If the Surface accepts that there's definitely a mismatch between what you're typing and what's being sent. Then change your router password back to what it should be.
