I just went to Wal-mart and bought a cheap HDMI to Micro HDMI (D) cable for $14.99 and cut the plastic end (at the Micro end) at an angle to compensate for the Surface 2's beveled edge.

Watching Netflix through the Surface to the TV on wifi works way better than my Roku XR box. I can now watch movies without the stopping and restarting as I did with my roku

By chance do you have a "Smart TV"? One that has internet (wired or Wi-Fi)?

If so, you might not need the HDMI cable. If you are running a Modern App, you can send video via the network by a charm swipe, select Devices, Play, and you might see your TV listed, if so, select it, and voil? wireless video on your TV!!

Oh, you do need the TV connected to your network, btw.
