Should I get the Microsoft Surface?

The local pawn store has this Surface for $250,and I don't know if its a deal or not. I have this android tablet I don't use anyway,so a surface would be nice. I just wonder,if it runs Windows 8 full or RT,and if it runs RT,can I access desktop mode and download desktop applications(like Steam) Any help would be great!
EDIT- also comes with the touch pad keyboard!

If it is RT you will not be able to download desktop applications or anything x86 based. You will only be able to install things from the Windows Store.

For surfing, facebook and office stuff the Surface is fine.

Theres a Surface with RT and a surface with 8? Or is the Surface with 8 called the Surface Pro?

Any surface with Pro after it run full Windows 8 OS. Surface and Surface 2 run Windows 8 RT.

RT is ok mostly...
Had one for 7 months now.
I've had ups and downs with it...
I would recommend a pro to anyone now after having the RT.
