Hi, my name is Mark. I've been an iphone owner for some time until two days ago I 'made the switch' to Windows Phone (Lumia 640). I'm currently training to be a primary teacher. My specialisms at uni are Computing and and pedagogical thinking skills. I am married with two children. I really enjoy reading and listening to music.

Please feel free to message me.. Cheers

Hello, Mark; welcome to Windows and to Windows Central!

I, myself, am looking forward to becoming a teacher, hopefully and educator, in the near future - there's just a sense of internal gratification in knowing that good knowledge was shared and was used to help. Not yet married, though; but that should come in the near future as well if all go along with has been planned.

We've got a dedicated thread for the Lumia 640; make sure to check it out if you haven't already.

Hello,my name is Nawaf and I'm from Saudi Arabia.Ive mostly been an android user and I'm currently sporting the Gold LG G3.Now I've never owned one of the newer windows one phone considering my last was a very old HTC windows 6 phone but the wonderful OS caught my interest after I tried the Microsoft Lumia 535 and I've been thinking of joining the Windows phone ecosystem and this seems like a great and helpful community where I can get all the help information I need!I will hopefully try to add something to the many discussions in here and help others with their needs!

Hi there, Nawaf! Welcome to Windows Central!

Glad to know that you've "returned" to Windows. I also had an HTC windows mobile 6 and 6.5.3, in fact, my HTC Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is still working and is charging just a few meters from where I'm sitting.

Make sure you pick up the latest updates for your L535 since those updates could improve the performance of your device. Make sure to check out your Lumia 535 forum, too.

See you around!

The easiest recommendation that I can give is the Recently released Lumia 640. I don't know if it's released in Saudi Arabia but even if it's not, it will be shortly. It's a mid range phone but still isn't heavy on the wallet.
It's just awesome.

Oh, that slipped me! Thanks for the clarification.

I've got the L535 and it "does the job*" well, but I would recommend** going higher than this one probably starting with a L635, if not the L640.

*- of calling and carrying out SMS services, plus chat through data.
**- once you visit the L535 forum, it will become apparent that the L535 has or had a known touch screen issue. Updates should have solved it, but not all users agree with their findings. Some users also report that newer L535s have a different screen, but that could be just speculation.

I've been a lurker around here for about a year, but I started posting since I started playing around the Technical Previews.

My name is Don, and for a lack of better words I'm pretty much a jack of all trades. I work as a many-hat administrative assistant by day, and moonlight as a barista for a cute espresso bar. Between that, I spend my time as a freelance web designer and eBook designer, and as a self-taught student, brushing up on C#, ASP, PHP, and JavaScript to better assist parallel app development as I work on design, and to also develop my own apps in the near future. I also volunteer pro-bono services to a local food shelf (as general admin, IT, or whatever they need) and assist in my local Buddhist 12-Step supplement group. In short, I'm a pretty busy guy.

In my spare time, I try to read through my queue of philosophical and theological books, use SuperMemo to help me retain little tidbits of knowledge, watch some opera or concerts in the weekend, play my violin in a klezmer style, or play throug my never-ending queue of Xbox One games.

Ah... So... Nice to meet you all!
