Lately I've been seeing a lot of buzz around battery technology and the green movement going nowhere. All have to do with battery technology being so far behind. What do you guys think?

Battery technology is surely progressing but other components are going at 10 times the speed, batteries today have more juice(although not even twice) for same size than 5 years ago, but phones have like 10 times power as compared to 5 years ago, so battery innovations seem zero/stagnant.
Technologies like wireless charging, solar charging(upcoming) will make us forget battery limits for most of the time.

Sure, battery technology may be slowing down but that's one side of the coin, if the processor industry is progressing so fast, they'll find a way to may high power, low voltage chips giving you more bang for your buck. However the trend for slim phones means battery life is often sacrificed for size, not to mention the massive 1080p screens (though AMOLED may be better here at the tech progresses)

Batteries require a lot of testing, as they are highly explosive. They have batteries that can charge in seconds and last days right now, but still in testing.

Yep processor companies will find ways to run on lower and lower power but we still need better batteries, there are certain things where battery flows like running water(games for instance), we need better battery management by all OS too.
